    Agreed.

Some old neighbors of mine (single, no kids, 3 dogs) had to by order of the court, go neighbor to neighbor and explain how they were "training and restraining" one of their dogs that bit the 2nd neighbor.

He was shocked when I told him that the dog(s) had lost all their chances and that if I saw then off leash, they would be dead. You just can't risk the health an well being of your kid for a dog.

You're doing the right thing, no matter how tough.

Do what Thorthunder said and put the dog down. I faced the same situation with a dog of ours that mauled my wife and my vet said even with the waiver, it would not hold water in court. Take the worries away from your family and have the dog put down, too much to loose.

I would feel terrible if our 6 year old daughter felt the fear of a possible dog bite or attack in her own home. The home is a place of safety and sanctuary, and nothing should diminish that. Our Vizsla is like our second child, but he would be immediately rendered inert if he ever showed any physical acts of aggression to anyone in the household.

I love my kids more. If they bite them, they die..*

depending on the circumstance I may entertain the thought of finding them a new home...maybe.

            Dont feel guilty.
Agreed 100%. Love my dog too, but at the end of the day he's a dog. You can't let a dog that you know to be aggressive go live with someone else. Got to put him down.

My step sister has a neurotic Jack Russell. I was at her house one day dropping something off and the dog was really close to biting me. My wife went over a few days later and he bit her twice, unprovoked.

They have a one year old baby girl in the house but were appalled when I said the dog needed a bullet in the brain pan.

I'd have him put down in a hurry. Or put him down myslef. If he bit my kid. NOTHING to feel guilty about.

You have gave him more chances that I would have . Time to let him go before you have any regrets for what he might do next

I agree. Not because he bit your child or already had "2 chances" but there is obviously something wrong with the dog. Seizures and aggression. Have him put down by a vet. Best for both worlds. Sorry you have to do that tho.

Thank you all for your Support in this hard time. I took him in yesterday morning and stayed with him till the end. The Wife is pretty upset with what had to happen but new it had to be done for the safety of the family, and others. he was her first "pet" after all. Other than the Obvious problems he/we had, he was a good dog and he will be missed. RIP Stewie.

There is no place on this earth for a dog that bites humans while unprovoked.

                          You did the right thing.

Just for everyone's info - yes. In every state the common law says once a dog has bitten a human you are on notice that the dog is dangerous. I believe this is statury in Texas. You only get ONE strike. After that, you are financially liable for that dogs behavior. Not to mention morally.
