    Getting rid of a Packrat

My shower this morning was interrupted by my wife screaming in the living room. There was a packrat on a window ledge outside. After throwing on a pair of jeans and grabbing my .22 revolver, I chased it round the deck few times trying to get a clear shot. No luck.

The whole thing was caught by the Blink home security cameras- here’s the great white hunter!

Out outdoor cats watched me in amusement. Any suggestions on how to trap it?

Do you have to have a tag or license for those Montana Trophy Packrats? I'm looking for a place to book a hunt.

No more food for the cats- get to work!
Set up a Have a Heart trap where it’s been.

As for taxi services, I'm thinking about doing a euro to show off those teeth. So, caping won't be nessesary.

And if you get him in the live trap, I might be willing to do a canned hunt.

I’ve chased it around the house on the deck 3x now. Smacked it once with a walking stick so it’s moving slower

I’d shoot it if it wasn’t so close to the house.

Set up a trap where it has always run under the deck.

What the heck is a "Pack Rat"?? Just like some kind of big mouse or rat? Have to Google up a picture.

I like glue traps. They catch anything, even fat lazy cats!! Even caught a baby copper head once. If you know where it comes in/out of of, a glue trap will do the job. Bait traps work if they'll take the bait, but a glue trap is my favorite.

I love a good Man vs beast story, especially if it includes using a trap. Using a trap requires more intellect and intuition than simply shooting the beast. It’s a game of wits to get those beasts to take the bait. Some of them are too smart for the trap.

In for the ongoing drama with popcorn in hand.

Use a shiny new rollex for bait

I decided the best course of action with a hysterical wife was to go fly fishing- and buy a couple of giant City Rat and Snake glue traps.

                      To be continued.

Don’t mess up and step on one of those.

No doubt. My old dog managed to get to one (I thought I had it out the way enough) and it took us an hour with lots of olive oil to get that glue to let go!
