We got 1.5” (muchly needed) rain over the last week. The axis have backed off the feeders to the point they are not really hitting them at all now.

I passed an easy shot at a buck with 9 points last week. He was still in velvet and lacking in main beam length. I really hope he can make it t next year.

I have another hard horned buck that has been around (up til the recent rain) that I really want to get a close up view of. I’m 99% sure he’s a shooter, and hope to be posting a pic of him at some point on this thread!!!!!

And btw, I only bowhunt them.

I'm with ya'll, they are my favorite animal to hunt, then whitetail. It's been 8 years since I killed a buck, but try to shoot a doe every year just for ground meat for the family. This buck was the last one I shot, year before he had a drop tine, he had multiple points, freak!

I’m sure I do. He was right in front of me and the camera for 30 minutes the other evening. He has real long brows, 2 extra tines right where the brows come off the main beam, and a split caudle time. He’s a really cool looking buck and I may regret not shooting him later on.
