We always called them Mexican Squealers. But apparently that's not a PC thing to say anymore, which is probably why TPWD removed all verbiage in the outdoor annual referring to them as Mexican anything.

I've always called them this. See them most of the year in Brazoria Co. Seems like they're the last to leave and the first ones to come back.

Same, I'm right on the creek and they live in my back yard. We see and hear them flying over all the time.

I’m all the way up by Great Oaks Elementary and I see them a couple times a month. They sometimes sleep in my owl box.

I fly fish down on Brushy pretty regularly. I have on a straw hat as often as not. Say hello if you see a geezer in a straw cowboy hat.

I remember shooting some in far north central Texas circa later 90’s. This was later in season as well. It was ‘rare’ enough to have one mounted back then.

Then I moved to Corpus Christi shortly after, and let’s just say they were as ‘rare’.

The general term that refers to both Fulvous and Black-Bellied whistling ducks. These are black-bellied. I have a stand at our place near Falfurrias that overlooks 3 feeders ranging from 100 - 250yds. I watch them jump from feeder to feeder the duration of every hunt.

They were here at my feeders in Brown county last yr.

I wish I enjoyed eating ducks. I would like to try a corn-fed one and get him off the buffet here!
