I saw a story on Altuve in LF this morning on the MLB page. Yep, he is embracing it. Gonna be dang odd but time is moving on all of us.

Apparently McCullers touched close to 95MPH today in West Palm Beach. I wonder what the Vegas o/u is of IP for Lance this season at the big club?

Cam Smith has the body of a big leaguer and has shown great plate discipline in his four games he has played so far this spring.

I find it absolutely jarring how often Houston pitchers don't cover a base or back up a throw? They come off as disgustingly lazy after the pitch is thrown.
And this not regarding some fringe prospects, this is Blanco and Framber in back to back days. Awful.

Houston scores five in the bottom of the 9th to beat NYY in walk off fashion after a GW HR off the foul pole.

Cam Smith continues to impress with excellent at bats.
Wesneski had a good start with striking out five in 2.1IP.
Whitley looks to make the big league roster, options be darned.

Let's see how Framber shakes out tomorrow against Miami.

I know it's early regarding Cam Smith and that he is facing (mostly) minor league pitching, but good gravy, he may really make the opening day roster. Great problem to have.
Dezenzo looks to be really hungry to make the roster as well.

Both of these guys need to be on the roster. And minor league or not, chas and jake arent hitting like Cam.

Also, why all this talk about Altuve playing left still? We have yet to get anyone else that would move paredes to second so get altuve back in the infield.

Not everyone look at once but...Lance McCullers Jr. is slated to start tomorrow against Washington. Reports of him sitting in the mid 90s a couple weeks back during simulated games.

Pulling for Lance, but not expecting him to stay healthy. Why would I? Sure would help a lot if he could. Altuve is 100% the starting left fielder. I think I would have Brendan Rodgers as the starting second baseman. Gonna be interesting to see who the last couple of non pitchers make the final roster. I would love to see Cam Smith be our starting right fielder. He homered off a legit mlb starter the other day. Can’t wait for the season to start

Steve Sparks said on Sunday that Altuve seems to be a rejuvenated spring chicken after the LF move. Something new for the veteran to learn and has made him extra eager. The ho hum of Spring Training can be monotonous he said which I can totally get.

My thoughts on the whole Cam Smith situation is to let Jake and Chas work themselves out of the lineup in the early go of the season. Let Cam get at bats in AA/AAA to start the year and be ready. I don't like saying that about Jake and Chas but is a business as we all know. Cam has some weirdo power...especially to the opposite field. Excited to see what it turns out to be against every day MLB pitching. Robert Ford stated last week that he spoke to a scout that was watching Smith in high school and the scout said he profiled more as an outfielder versus a third baseman.

It is a tricky situation with the gloves of Rodgers, Guillorme, and the Meerkat Dubon. I refuse to hear one bad word about Dubon for this entire season, fyi.
