Houston's #5 starter making his hometown debut going against the SF ace. What can go wrong?

Where I’m at as well, but hope I’m wrong.

I know they got out to a slow start last year but, wow. When your oldest player has 33% of your base hits entering game 5, that’s not good.

i get the small sample size and there have definitely been a lot of loud outs, but this team isn’t built to dig out of a hole like last year’s team did.

Everyone needs to take a breath. Its April 1st. The season ends in six months which is at the doorstep of October.

Oh, I’m not hyperventilating or anything, but it’s definitely a different team and absolutely a different vibe.

Believe me, as a Cowboys fan, I remember the three consecutive 5-11 seasons, just like I remember the three consecutive 100 loss Astros seasons. I was there for numerous games due to our season ticket availability (canceled during the COVID season).

This doesn’t feel like either of those by any means, but it’s definitely different than what it has been recently. They have some good things working on the team right now, and some other possibilities at Sugar Land, but this is a fringe playoff team at best. And it won’t surprise me if they finish .500 or lower.

          Just my thought.

The Astros need a truck load of those Torpedo Bats delivered to Daikan Park yesterday.

yep, April 1 today. Lots of things will change, not just for the Astro's but also every other team in our league. For me I have nothing but positive vibes, even in the wonky start and decision making. Astro's have been incredible for us. I never thought I would ever attend a World Series game and now I can say we have been to at least 6 or so. If we are down for a year or so it does not diminish the excitement. The season is still wet behind the ears, so "Lets geaux ASTROs!!!"

You mean, you're not a fan of Quincy Carter? Those Campo years were some sort of bad. Hard to believe that roster consisted of Troy, Dat, Larry Allen, Flozell, Dexter Coakley, and Joey Galloway,

This team and especially the manager does not overly excite me. Hopefully it changes for the better. But, right now the energy has flatlined.

                      I cannot stand Espada!

3 for 26 with RISP to start the year...not ideal. Wesneskii walking the 8 and 9 hitters to start the 4th was detrimental. Altuve sure didn't help trying to back hand that ball only to whiff by being handcuffed.

The longest tenured coach for the Astros? Alex Cintron. I think it’s time to make a change in hitting coaches. The offense has been below expectations for several years now

I'm all for piling on the coaching staff but they can only do so much. Who's the replacement if you can Snitker and Cintron? Christian Walker, a legitimate veteran, somehow looks like he as a 2x4 jammed up his *** the last four games when he steps into the box. Yordan is loving to chase any off speed pitch down in the zone this season. The coaches can't hit for the players...especially after what I saw yesterday and today, plenty of "bad" pitches missed by Houston hitters across the lineup.

Taking two of the first three series this season is nice after looking dead in the water for the Minnesota finale. Blanco looking like he didn't have an answer for any Twin batter.
Bullpen shouldered a huge load by only giving up 3 runs in 8.1 innings after Blanco left them in a lurch going 1.2 IP and giving up 4 runs.
Houston down 6 runs only to chip away with good at bats and solid (much needed) relief pitching.

                              Onto Seattle.

                                Early season observations
                                1. Altuve hasn’t hurt us yet in left field
                                2. Altuve is still a terrible baserunner
                                3. Paredes plate discipline was badly needed. He got 4 hits yesterday also
                                4. Rodgers appears to be the everyday second baseman. Hitting over .300 so far
5.Cam Smith looks overmatched at this point
                                6. Diaz looks terrible at the plate. He may never get a hit
                                7. Arrighetti and Blanco need to throw more strikes
