Y'all may or may not find some ideas here....

My favorite part of mine is the ability to crank the grill up or down according to how hot my coals are. I don't use it terribly often anymore, but I cooked ribeyes for my shop (about 18) at Thanksgiving, and it works great.

Are there pics of it? I’m interested.

I built this, used a tractor tire rim.
One container stores firewood, charcoal, hotdog forks.
the other holds all the cushions
                its all freestacked limestone rock.

If you can find materials. We have a 60" diameter steel pipe 5/8" thick that is cut 36" tall. Bottom has a concrete level floor. We buried it 12".deep in ground.

Concrete floor is great for putting in cooking grates and flat steel griddles on legs for cooking.

Heat radiates off the heavy metal sides for warm.

Can make fire with up to 5' logs if really cold outside.

Will last longer than any of us.

I have been thinking about making one for my new place. Just need a place to get a tank end.

I had this pit built about 10 years ago for our lease. It worked great. You could cook on it or remove grill cover for full firepit. Nice to warm your feet on a cold night. Sold it t a member on here a few years ago.

We put in one that runs off our propane. We did this t because of all the dry times we have and not wanting embers to set all the farmland around us on fire. We fire it up instantly and when we are done I turn it off and walk inside.

Its no good for grilling or anything like that but it puts off a ton of heat for sitting around in the fall/winter.

I got a 36 inch tank head from baker tank head near denton. Super stout! Got a lid and a cooking grate. Boswell will take of you!

thanks. If I were a better mason we would have foot/beer rests etc.

we had an end cap one like mowers and it rusted out after 3 or 4 years. Did some welding on it and it limped along for several more.

stone one is cheaper and it won’t rust.
