My oldest 2 call me grandpa, except lately the grandson has been calling me G-paw. Not sure if that will stick or just a cool thing hes going thru. They tried to get my youngest one to say grandpa but it came out Bopo and it's been Bopo for about a year now so I guess that's what it is.

              Thanks for all the responses!
I'm trying to just let it happen naturally, but there is a push from the new parents (particularly my daughter) to have this settled ahead of time. Also having to deal with the "other side's" parents as they are already grandparents and have their nicknames established.

My mom and dad were Emma and Pawpaw (Yiddish). Wife’s folks were grammammy and papy

we don’t have grandkids yet but I’m in the “I don’t give a ….” Crowd, wife says I’m pops and she’s nana

Nana and Pawpaw until they get old enough to call us what they want Nana seems to stick and about 10 or so most of the grandkids call me Grandpa Scott or Pawpaw Scott

We kept our first grandson while his mother went to grad school as he started talking. He got confused with names for me and his father. His father got duhduh and I was stuck with Duh! I didn’t care as long as they called me something

I'm remarried and my ex is remarried for a lot of years. My son in laws mom and dad have remarried. As you can imagine it's a cluster****, too many grandpa and grandma's. To me there's only 2 blood of each but it's a good thing I'm mellower in my old age.

I was actually given several choices to pick from, my wife had already self-proclaimed herself.

                            So its Poppy and Nana.

Sounded odd to me at first but its grown on me, as long as the GKs can pronounce it. Lol.

For me... both Grandfathers gone before I could speak. so nothing there. As for my grands, I'm Grampa for some, Pawpaw for others and Papa for the rest.
