For my sister and I growing up, our grandparents were always called Grandpa & Grandma. When mentioning them to others, we would always add on their last names: Grandpa Mack, Grandma Rockwell, etc.
Apparently, the new norm is nicknames. My Mom would accept nothing less than Mimi. We have friends who are Sassy & Sarge. I know there are some old traditional ones such as Pop, Pa, Pop-Pop, Nana, etc.
As of a week ago, wife & I now have to decide what we want to be called.
My Wife's first run at it was "KAGM" (pronounced 'kagg-em') - Kick A** GrandMa
But that got turned down!
So what's the list of grandparent nicknames now? What do you use - for yours or for yourself? Was it yours to decide, or was it given to you?
