Camp fire thoughts

Some of those fires are short members for one reason or another. Tonight, take a moment and think about those guys and gals

It's been 8.5 yrs since we lost my hunting mentor and best friend - my FIL. He was also my daughter's hunting mentor. We have a memorial wall in the cabin at the lease to remember those that have gone before us. I raise a glass/can to each of them every trip out. They are all missed and well-remembered!

I miss ole Burnadell. Never shared a fire with him, but met for lunch a couple of times and communicated daily for the last couple of years he was alive. Great TBHer and a good man to miss.

Unfortunately, I don't get to share a camp fire with anyone. Not on a lease and I hunt public land. However, I found myself thinking of my sister while on the stand this weekend. We lost her back at the end of July from a stroke. Thanksgiving at mom and dads just wasn't the same.

Havent been able to hunt since the good weather hit, and doesnt look like I will be able to any time soon to be around a good fire.

But definitely have thought about those that I / we have lost in the last couple of years, both on TBH and in my personal life.

Unfortunately its been too dry for a fire so far this year. still hasn't stopped us from swapping stories on the back porch though.
