Sorry to hear about your dad. Hope this is nothing more than a temporary setback and that he’s back in the stand this time next year.

Thank you. Ol Geezer and I sat by hundreds of fires. That was one of his favorite things. He often invited a special friend or two. All realized it was sacred.

This was the first Thanksgiving of my life that he didn't offer the blessing after a speech about what we should be thankful for. Lots if those same items came up around a campfire for sure. I miss him. Others too....

Not a campfire, but I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and may y'all have a great weekend.

ID:	26973444 My dad did get to see our property when we purchased it but his Parkinson’s had gotten to the point family could not provide all the care he required. He passed a few months later. I wish we could have sat around the campfire with him and have him enjoy it as we do. It’s the best place to be this time of year when it’s cold enough to keep half your body warm and toasty. Mom got to see it and the cabin we built before she passed. The wife and I love to spend the cool evenings by the fire with our evening adult beverage this time of year. It’s our not so guilty pleasure. Yes we are blessed.

No doubt being around a campfire with like minded people is the best therapy available imo.

Little late to the fire brother but we burned a hot one last night. That's why I'm moving slower than normal

I know the feeling. First holiday without either of my parents at the table

I remember those days when we hunted public land and would camp for the weekend. After that, no fires because we didn’t camp. As I remember it, campfires were conducive to not much sleep because nobody wanted to go to bed.

Had a good time a few weeks ago with LuckyCards at his place.

Cooler weather came through and I can’t help myself in the back yard. Wife went inside after a bit. I sat out another hour or so just reflecting on life.

I miss ole Burnadell. Never shared a fire with him, but met for lunch a couple of times and communicated daily for the last couple of years he was alive. Great TBHer and a good man to miss.

I approve this message. Never a campfire but we broke bread a couple of times.
