The only thing I have seen with digital license is when you report the kill and where, they can tell you to go get it tested at a test facility, even though your county is not in the testing area. No big deal, just passing info.

How does that change the previous year’s number of birds you killed?

I always got asked when buying otc...been getting it online for the past few years the site knows what I want to get / history & asks.

I'm surprised they lump the doves & WW into the same pile on count, but they do it w/ waterfowl too...the whole migratory deal adds an element that makes no sense.

It was started and no one has thought to end it so it’s a box to check for eternity.
False. HIP is required by the USFWS and is used to select people for the parts collection survey which is integral to migratory bird management.

so why does it need to be a on the license. If that’s the case it should just be a yes or no entered at time of license purchase.

You can always go back where they sell hunting licenses and get it printed out. Just put it with your license in case you get checked. Doesn’t cost anything. I get it every year regardless if I hunt migratory birds or not.

I buy ours online and they mail them. It's super easy and it saves all the info. It also links with other states for licenses. I don't trust the people in the stores any more, especially Academy.

Because it’s a requirement to have it. No different than having a migratory stamp, or upland stamp, or archery stamp.

and it’s not just a yes or no. It it also how many you shot.

Incase anyone cares to read, here is how HIP data is used.

So how many of you are truthful when asked how many doves or ducks you killed last season?

Dang BBQ, I never heard of an archery stamp. Just bought it, wish I could have known a week ago when I ordered the hunting license. Sure glad you mentioned that endorsement.

I bought my Wife's Super Combo online to make sure it was correct. Should get it in the mail next week. I bought a Federal Duck Stamp when I purchased my License this year. Will I get the Duck Stamp in the mail or the fact that the License says I bought the stamp is that good enough?

It doesn't, but if you say no, there is no reporting. I'm not sure I understand your comment. When buying a license they ask you if you plan to hunt migratory birds this year. yes or no. If you say no, there is no reporting. My question was, "what if I said no, I have no plans to hunt birds, but then later decide I do, how do I handle that?"

I am. Why would you lie about it?

Any way to help, honest mistakes should not warrant tickets.
