Check your New 2025 Hunting License for HIP Certification

I bought my new 2024-25 Super Combo License and Federal Duck Stamp this week and as I was looking at it later, I noticed it said HIP Certification Required. In anticipation of the HIP questions, I told the girl that I did not shoot any doves or any Waterfowl last year however, she forgot to do the certification. So, I went Online and completed the HIP Certification so no big deal but if I had not caught it I could have gotten a Citation while Dove Hunting this year. Just check your license if you do any Dove or Waterfowl hunting. I bought License at Academy. I know the Manager there, so I will let him know that they need to be careful about that.

This will be my 3rd year using the digital license and I have to admit that I like it. I don't have to stand in a line at Academy or worry about them getting something wrong.

Same thing happened to me a few years ago at Academy.
I noticed it was not on the license and asked the clerk about it. She had no clue what I was asking her and she had to get the manager involved. He came over and said yes you are supposed to ask them if they will be hunting birds and then ask the questions. They added it and re printed my License. I asked how many she had already sold and she said probably over 20. I thought to myself someone's probably going to get a citation from her not knowing.

Warden's way to catch someone, dont forget: (archery stamp, duck stamp, hunters cert, HIP, must sign the back of a lic, fill a log, etc). I follow the rules, but man I feel the warden is out to get me.
