Saturday Went with my brother, cousin and a couple buddies I’ve grown up hunting ducks with on one of the buddies places outside Hankamer. Ended the morning and my season with 10 mallards, 15 wood ducks, 2 mottleds and a couple teal. Ended up getting my 9th band with one of the mottled ducks. Banded in Grand Chenier in Cameron Parish Louisiana in 2022.

By far the worst season I've had in a long time, killed more birds in first week or so than all season but haven't even bothered hunting till 3 weeks ago. South of Lake Texoma, normally get lots of birds from Hagerman and Ray Roberts and can hear some shooting normally at Ray Roberts and haven't heard a shot till a couple this morning.....very few birds on water anywhere around us all season with it being so warm everywhere. Even buddies in NW Oklahoma had worst season probably in their lives, they are half my age, I didn't even bother going up. Nephew helps with veterans hunts for Therapeutic Recreation Group in Arkansas and they crushed them but they have flooded rice fields and nice pit blinds, 12 of them........last pic was 18 man limits.......

Glad to see so many people make it out this past weekend!
3 of us went out to Chambers on Sunday and shot 4 birds. Pretty much inline with our season there since thanksgiving.
Saw probably 3000-4000 pintail migrating down so looks like their alarm finally went off to head this way.
We will be imprint feeding like crazy the next couple of weeks to see how that goes.
Now onto snipe hunting the next few weeks!

That snipe hunting is a blast. Lots of fun! Good Luck!

We had birds on just about every tank I scouted in Clay and Wichita Counties but they were real spread out. 2 here, 5 there type of deal. They weren't concentrated heavily on any tanks to finish out the season with a bang. Still ended up a small mixed bag on Saturday and Sunday mornings, if you could shoot more pintails I would've shot a lot more shells Saturday we had the pintails piling in like crazy.
Ready for next season, hopefully it's colder!

Congrats FBR, gander, and droebuck! Way to close out strong
We set up on some mottleds or Mexican mallards yesterday and went trophy duck hunting. Suckers were jicky though. Two times we were going to shoot them on the next pass, and two times they didn't have a next pass
. Never even picked up the gun.
Tough season. Hopefully next year is better.
