    First Archery Axis Down

I’ve been after ole Big for a long , long time and have been so blessed that the Lord has placed many giants in front of me but I let them walk - time and time again. I’m still after him But we have some old timers or inferior bucks that need to removed from the herd. It’s been a hard hunt this week though the temps have been awesome . Friday , I got in the Krivo at 3:30 and the WT started piling in on me . When I got tho the blind there were some axis that were on alert - or alerting everyone with in 1000 yds that this clumsy hunter was on Tower 😉. It was very comfortable , so comfortable that I watched the deer through my eyelids a time or two. I was blessed to see a lot of WT and quite a few really nice bucks. Well, 7 pm had hit, deer started coming in from every direction and at last Axis started rolling in and there were some Hosses still in velvet along with some hard horned. I was excited to see so many pile in but they all stopped, threw their heads up looking to my right- I was thinking Here He Comes. This buck was awesome in stature - serious- extremely alert and was posturing . Now, I had all three windows open and deer all around me and very close . I had seen this hoss a couple of times but never was presented with a shot- he constantly moved . He walked up in the middle of the others and started eating protein but he backed off quickly , he knew I was there but none of the others did but kept walking around the feeder. I had slowly gotten my bow in hand and it seemed like it took forever because there were so many eyes and ears within 10 yds. I started drawing back but had to stop several times mid draw to not spook them. He walked back up at 22 yds , something brought all of their attention looking in the opposite direction from me so I pulled it on back. They had all calmed down so I locked in on him but the rascal kept moving around and I had no shot- time had gone by and I was starting to feel the pain. I was going to let off but I knew I would be busted so I asked the Lord if it’s meant to be please give me renewed strength and he did just that- pain went away , he turned to my right , slightly quartering away and I sent one through mid lung and it hit bone in his left shoulder so it wasn’t a complete pass through. I saw Blood pouring out , he bolted following the rest of the herd but he was hurt bad. I gave it 45 minutes before starting my track on him and the blood trail was great blood and plenty of it. I turned up into an opening and there he was Expired. The old man made it 65 yds and piled up. I was so elated and thanked the Lord immediately. Now this is very rocky country filled with cactus but I had to drag this beast 20 yds to get him out where the sun would be suitable for photo’s . I’m pretty sure I tripped over every rock and cactus dragging him backwards and he was Heavy. This was my first time using my iPhone on tripod for a selfie but I’ve been watching ole Bisch for quite a while and Tried to get some pics - kinda close to how his come out . I hope that y’all can see them well. I then had to pull this monster up on to the front rack - I asked Jesus to please give me the strength and he did ,but it took everything within me but I was toasted afterwards . I was going to go back out this am after ole Big but I felt like Mike Tyson had worked me over good lol. I am a very blessed man , the meat will be awesome and there is a whole lot of it.
