I’m saying if you are going to use strictly a throttle controller then Banks is the one and you can read what makes it better here. The voltage, OBD, low speed trim, and reverse are important.
Calibrate your throttle with Banks PedalMonster. The patented module is the only one that knows your speed, gear, trans type, and when you're in reverse. PedalMonster makes all other throttle response controllers obsolete.
The OTT tune doesn’t add all of that cheap throttle controller touchyness in reverse but its way more than a throttle controller, it reprograms shift points and other stuff that make it a different truck.
If you don’t get an OTT tune, get a Banks !Last edited by Voodoo; 07-24-2024, 05:45 AM.

If anyone here wants to roll with the pedal commander or sprint booster you can get the knock-off on Amazon made by the same chinese kids for chump change. If you are gonna spend pedal commander prices do yourself a favor and get the Banks.

I have owned multiple Tacomas and each have had their pros and cons. But will admit none were my everyday driver, just used them for piddling, hunting and for back ups. They would all pull a small trailer or small boat. None would when a drag race or tractor pull but overall not a bad hunting, piddling truck. All have been very reliable , matter of fact my son has driven his 2013 since he was 16 and it has yet to let us down.
I have a 2018 TRD Crew 4x4 LWB with 55k on it now that I bought 3 years ago. It had 47k on it when I bought it, probably should sale it due to lack of use, but fun to drive to the river or beer store every once in a while. One plus is the resale value is crazy.
If you buy one they are fun, but understand your buying a junior midget and will lack a tad bit of power depending what you are use to.

Had a 2006. Between me an my dad it had over 200k on it with normal maintenance. I had a newer one with a 3.5 as a rental. The 2006 wasn't a race car, but the 2020 was a total dog. They took a somewhat under powered 4.0 v6 and replaced it with a 3.5 to get 2 mpg. Now even that has been replaced with a twin turbo 4 cylinder that is having similar issues to the 6 cylinder they put in the new Tundras. But they sure look good all set up with overlanding gear in the starbucks line.
