Well folks, it looks like my little tantrum yesterday has done some good. The thing is, when they put her in her room, they rolled the good bed out and kept her in the bed she was originally in at the ER. It wasn’t as good a bed but it was easier for them. She wasn’t sleeping well at all. Today is a different story because after the come to Jesus meeting they wheeled her in a different bed and she slept well last night. They are also answering the call button promptly today.

Probably won’t update much until we find out if she’s going to rehab this weekend or the insurance will wait until Monday to process. At any rate, thanks again to all of you for your prayers and well wishes !

      It’s like I’ve always said…a well-timed hissy fit is a powerful thing.

      Go you!

        Well that's great news Don...
I always preferred a Kinipshion fit over a hissy fit, but a well timed and carried out fit of about any flavor is indeed a powerful tool to have in your tool chest! Good on you for takin' care of the missus!!

Update sooner than I thought. No problem with the insurance and they moved her to rehab earlier this afternoon. Got her all registered up, answered all the questions for the hundredth time and she does PT every day but Sunday. She claims she’s fixin’ (when we married in ND, she said she’d never use that word), to kick PT’s azz. I said “prove it” and she took the challenge. We will see, but I can already see that these folks ain’t quite as gentle as they were in the hospital. She feels much better though, and I think she’ll do good, and do better without a sympathetic audience. We can only visit from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and I imagine she’ll be worn out by then. So we’ll be there for a couple hours in the afternoons and that will be ok until she gets out. Meanwhile, I have to buy a couple grab bars to install in the bathroom and build a ramp for the step-up into the house from the garage.

Great news Don. She’ll be back on that weed eater before you can say “ Whats for dinner tonight “?

She gave her sis a list of stuff this morning to bring to her, and of course we gave her a hard time. All in good fun ! She’s over the hump now I think but I’m sure the PT is gonna be tough. That scar on her hip was looong, had 40 staples to close. I think the PT today is to see how much help she needs to take a shower. She is determined to get out of there next week………did I mention that she is hard headed ? Let me amend that statement…..she’s a wonderful woman, just don’t pizz her off !

Thanks Pat, we just got in to visit. She said she did two laps around their PT track, (150’), one in a wheelchair and one on a walker. And still showers sitting down and they won’t let her get in and out of the wheelchair by herself yet. No pain when she’s sitting or in bed, not much pain when moving her leg. She also climbed 6 steps up and 6 down. I think she’s doing great !

Hardheadedness is good when it comes to rehab. Keep rewarding it!

Don, just got caught up... What an great report!! Made my day!! That rehab place is good for you too!! Just think about all the "tough love" you won't have to give her!! they'll have her trained up right when they give her back to you!!

Lord thank You for this healing! Thank You Lord for putting the drive in ms. Janie! Please Lord continue to guide her, heal her and protect her from harm. Give our brother Don peace knowing that You have this sweet lady in Your arms covering her with protection. In Jesus name we ask and pray, Amen.

Her sister and I had a laundry list of stuff she needed from home. We gave her hell about acting like she was moving her home instead of being in rehab for a few days. My great grand daughter (18) has volunteered to come stay with us a couple weeks so she will have some help around the house. She’ll probably learn to cook while she’s here ! Lord knows I can barely feed myself !
