It is authentic Tex Mex. Better than Mexican.

Do we have "authentic" Texas food?

Of course we do. It's the best.
You know it's authentic if they have seafood (marisco's) and the menu says "shrimps".

Our customer base is 90% gentleman from south of the border. Quite often they'll bring us food or drinks from their favorite places (generally taco trucks or home). Tortilla, meat, cilantro, lime and onion. Haven't seen anything with cheese yet. I don't like it as much as tex mex, but I don't feel nearly as bad after eating it.

The one authentic thing I got was a barbacoa taco served with tortilla, cilantro, onion, and lime. Pretty good!

I could eat that every day for the rest of my life and be happier than a pig in sheet.

El Jimador in Angleton used to serve up some good barbacoa tacos, but I haven't eaten there in a good while since their prices went up and portions went down.

I love that place, but that’s about as texmex as it gets.

Casa el Torito is really good in south Ft Worth, not tex-mex. The churros are the best I've ever had.

                    Memo's or El Rodeo? I'm guessing Memo's.

Still there and still the best cheese enchiladas I've ever had.

Seems like all are the same now.
Camino Real. Spicewood Springs Rd and 183. Closed on Monday. Get the beef enchiladas with gravy and onions.

This just a good "mexican food" place or is it like old school with homemade tortilla smells, brick arches, sombreros etc?

So, you’ve been to Tracy’s in Pt Arthur (not Mexican food)?

                              6 shrimps & 6 oyster

So Authentic Mexican is a taco on soft corn tortillas with cilantro and onion. I make better authentic Mexican food than anyone in Mexico. Lol.
