When you let people, especially strangers, onto your land for free, you open up a whole lot of other problems. There are many hunters on this site that brag about shooting the landowner's cattle with blunt arrows, slingshots, etc. and they are usually paying to hunt there. Think about if someone was turned loose on your property for no charge. We tried this with friends a few times. You give them an inch, and they take a yard. Strangers would probably be a lot worse. I don't want hogs around, but they are better than allowing strangers on the place.
well said. ill take the stinking beast over a bunch of strangers running roughshod over my place. lawsuits and hard feelings are all that follow. i allow a few guys from san antonio hunt my place for free, hogs only, with the promise they will KAP every single pig they see and RESPECT MY LAND and MY CATTLE. lots of times its harder to deal with these guys than it is hogs and their damage. i can only imagine what it would be like to have to deal with any more hunters, paying or free.
its been my expierence when you allow free access, bad things happen more than not.

For the same reason that they can't regulate Axis, Sika, Blackbuck, Fallow, etc. They can't regulate non native species.
