Cell Cam Recommendations

Well my trusty old scouting cam finally took a s**t. Can’t complain though, it lasted many seasons on serval different leases. I want to upgrade to a cell cam and am curious on y’all’s experience with them. Right now I’m leaning towards the Muddy.

I like my muddy long battery life decent pictures. My complaint with them is customer is non existent. The cows broke the antenna on so I figured you could order one tried emails phone calls can’t get a hold of anyone. If you have issues with it just be prepared to throw it away and get something else.

Have had 2 Tactacam RevealX Gen 2 cameras for a little over a year with the lithium battery solar panels and they have been FLAWLESS so far. I bought a Moultrie Mobile Edge on sale at Academy for $74.99 recently and have been very happy with it so far as well.

Good choice. Their customer service is outstanding. They can text chat with you to solve issues.

Tacticam tells me they are coming out with new one, Cant give me anymore than that right now except that I want to wait for it. Just passing along.

I have moultrie, tactacams (gen 1), spartan, and blackgate. Blackgate is a new brand and I have been impressed with it so far. Their data plans are the cheapest I have found and they find the best service in the area allowing them to connect where my tactacams won't. The price point is relatively the same as tactacams. I do not own the new tactacams but have been around them plenty and they are good cameras, but blackgate might be worth looking into.

Another thumbs up for Tactacam, easy set up once you read the instruction lol!, Great customer svc. Plans could be a lil pricey but you get what you pay for with good equipment.

tactacam with the winghome battery powered solar panel off amazon. Running 4 of them for the past year with no issues. Several more of those combinations on my lease going on 3 years with no issues as well. Only thing I'd like to do is find more of the cables the winghome comes with because rodents will chew through them on occasion but that can happen to any cord.

I have been a big fan of Covert until the past year. I run five of them and have had to replace two the last few months. And, the others have been spotty on working properly. I am going to start phasing them out as they break and replace them with the new Moultries.
