Charge non-residents more to hunt in our state. Our state is not that attractive in regards to public hunting so I’m not sure it makes a difference. If I thought raising non resi fees would go to better wildlife/fisheries then I would be more for it, but I have no faith in govt run stuff.

Texas is mostly private, big deal, if they can afford a $3-8000 hunt they can afford a $600 hunting license. Every state I go to I’m paying twice what I used to, but mostly, I still go there.

So, you’re upset of other states license fees and the response is for Texas to do the same?

What is the penalty for getting caught without a license? Asking for a friend.

I guess they are following Arkansas. Currently $500 for 1 turkey in AR.

Much cheaper to risk it……law of averages in your favor if you don’t advertise it……I’ve heard

Dadgum it. This is the only thing that's given me a reason to cuss him. I like the guy, I think he's a good Governor.

I'm out huntin all the time. I see what the deer population is like. There's too many of 'em. In my opinion of course. I wouldn't pay that to come shoot one. If they're gonna do that they need to give y'all an option to get a lifetime huntin license without having to be a resident. That's stupid. The State of Texas is massive. How the hell you gonna charge an out of State person that kind of money to come shoot a deer? There's more frickin deer than there are jackrabbits.

And that's not an over exaggeration. That's a fact. Believe me when I say there's an over abundance of deer in Oklahoma. All I do is hunt for something or another. I don't think so, I know so.

This seems like it would damage their economy, what else are people travelling to OK for?

I didn’t realise they had legal weed there, I guess that would appeal to some.

I’m an okie land owner, TX resident. This is gonna sting a little bit. Property taxes are creeping up there too. All politicians get a little money hungry for that tax revenue once they get a little taste of it.

The flip side is maybe it will keep some of the oosers out. I hunt some public too and it’s gotten pretty darn crowded in some areas.

There’s a lot of resident OK hunters that actually believe that if they run out or price out non residents that they’ll be able to hunt the whole state by door knocking and hand shake deals like 40 years ago, and I just don’t see that chit happening.

Well, this ends my hunting in Oklahoma after one year. My BIL has a nice 120 acre property that has some good deer. Just don’t see paying that much for a few days of hunting.
