    Diesel Delete

Please educate me. I hear everyone saying they deleted their diesel. What does that mean? Is deleting a vehicle doing the same thing to them or is that a generic term for modifying the emissions?

I have a 2015 Chevy 2500 Diesel. What would deleting it do for me? What would be done to the truck?

I hear if you drop the DEF system and the emissions your truck will gain about 2 miles a gallon on mileage.

On your 2015, it would mean removing the dpf exhaust filter and eliminating the DEF system. I think you can also block off the EGR on that motor too.

The reasons to do it are: better fuel mileage, better engine longevity, eliminating a list of potential part/sensor failures, not having to buy DEF anymore.
Reason not to do it: it's illegal.

You will forever exclude your truck from being traded to a reputable dealer. The added mileage per gallon isn't worth the cost or effort, IMO.

And it sounds different, don’t forget to turn off engine when pulled over by DPS. I don’t think its worth it

No true. I've traded in my last 2 that have been deleted to big dealerships.

The delete isnt just for the added fuel mileage. Get a ton more power engine runs cleaner/better don't have to deal with sensors Def heaters ect.

if you have a 15 id also look into a fleece in tank pump before your injector pump goes out

Would also help with private party resale......Delete for my tractor ranges from $2-$3000 and much cheaper than DPF.........if my DPF fails definitely deleting

You either pay for it now...the delete....or you are going to pay for it later in parts/service. For those of you who are eco minded, you can do an analysis of the emissions put out of the EGR and you will find it does a bit more damage to the ecosystem than a full delete does. And, the cost now is considerably less than the parts/service later.

My question is who here has been caught with a deleted truck and what happened to you?

I had a 2015 F250 Deleted. It DID NOT increase my fuel mileage one bit. It did make the truck extremely loud, smell was so bad you couldn’t drive with the windows down, but she could run like a scalded dog. That was on a basic tune. I never even bothered to run a hot tune because it was so ****ed fast. I’d rather do a EGR delete rather delete DPF, so the truck could run cleaner.

I didn’t see a milage boost on my friends truck either

I had a 14 duramax I deleted after multiple issues with the def system. Added power and better fuel mileage. Wasn’t much louder.

Neither was mine and didn't have any smell to it at all. I did leave factory exhaust tip on mine and not just a straight pipe like some so probably helped. Mine had 5 settings but never turned it past the 2nd one. Was no need too! As soon as my warranty is up on this one it will be getting deleted as well

You may have, but it is still illegal. https://www.diesellaptops.com/blogs/...etes-and-tunes
