I saw that also, I have 2 days left. Ohm Connect is still way cheaper in my zip code than Frontier.

I signed up for 13.4 cents per kWh with their Frontier Power Saver 24 (month) plan. That is their 500 kWh plan, but for my shop it will be plenty.

You should check Ambit Lone Star Plus 12 and Lone Star Plus 24 plan if you use 1351-2000 kWh per month. I saw they have a plan that says 0-1350 kWh is 12.4 cents, but drops to 3.1 cents per kWh between 1351 and 2000. Then it goes back to 12.4 cents per kWh over 2000 kWh. I average about 200 kWh for my shop, so it wouldn't help me. I have been using Ambit for the last 8 years with no issues, but know nothing about these Lone Star Plus plans, so do your homework to be sure you understand it and it is a good fit for you.

The 3 rates for Ambit in my zip is 500 kwh =19.8, 1000 kwh =18.4, 2000 kwh =14.7. I do see the where it drops to 3.1 cents , but it not reflected in the 1000 kwh of 18.4. seems like smoke and mirrors to me.

Give them a call, they offered a cheaper rate on the phone than what I saw on line. If it doesn't work for you, no problem. Just wanted to share what I saw, it might not be the same for every zip code.

Thanks for letting me know. Something didn't look right so I re-upped with Direct Energy. It was a cent and a half more and I took a gamble and went with the 60 month plan. We have a 3000 sq ft house that I built in 88 and the wife keeps it at 70 in the summer and my yearly total for electric was the highest last year at $ 1650. Projected for this year will be $1970, so it's not like it's really a lot anyway.

I have been using Frontier Utilities for my shop since I mid-March, and I am happy with them so far.

Now it's time to renew my house, I am going to call Energy Ogre and Texas Power Agents, both suggested above. Rates are close to double what my current contract is. I really need to get a 6 month contract and renew in the fall when hopefully the rates will not be so high.

Energy Ogre and don’t look back. Saved me so much over the years. They even calculate mid contract to see if it’s cheaper to break the contract and move elsewhere.

                My referral code is 140LL

                  Energy Ogre x2.

On my first call they cut my bill in half (I was a TXU loyalist sucker)

i would need proof of that

alien's post didn't come through until after my post

TXU to me is the highest priced out there

Frontier is who I switched to about 6 weeks ago. The first full bill from the past month was $166.xx for a 2500+ Sq Ft two story and it would have been over $200 with Champion, which is who we switched from.

And yeah, TXU is horrible. Around here at least. They’ve been trying to get me to switch back to them for years by offering a $200 or $250 BS gift card but the rates were over 20% higher.

There’s one born every minute I suppose.

Just got signed up on Energy Ogre and used your code, so watch for your discount.

I hope it will save me some money overall. My last contract was a great deal, I am sure the new rates will be almost double what I paid for my last 3 year contract.

I recall some horror stories on energy ogre during icemageddon. Weren't some people get crazy high bills due to retail rates spiking for a few days?
