    Electricity providers

I have 2 electric meters at my house. One supplies my home and the other for my shop. The contract plan for the shop is expiring this Friday and the new plan will see an increase of right at 25% with Ambit. Luckily, the average usage is only around 250-250 kWh per month. My house averages 1500-2000 kWh, and it will expire in a couple of months. There are a lot if new electricity providers since the last time I shopped rates. Some of them are:
    * Ohm Connect
    *Frontier Power
    *Revolution Energy
    *Discount Power
    *Shell Energy
    True Power

Anyone have a provider to stay away from, or they are really happy with that you would recommend? I am sure electricity providers are like insurance companies, they are all great as long as you are paying and there are no problems. What makes a company stand above the rest is when you have an issue and/or they need to pay you or talk to customer service and get a foreigner on the phone that you can't understand. Customer service reps that speak English are a plus.

I have used Champion, Reliant, and a few others (no longer in business) with good results. I am currently with BKV Energy and so far so good. I always do at least 12 month fixed contracts.

I would stay far away from Amigo and Discount Power (Discount was HORRIBLE).

Good luck and let us know what you chose.

I am about to the point with Gexa to just pay the cancellation fee and try someone else

Definitely not English as their first language CS folks either

I had True Power and they seemed way more expensive than the others. I just switched to Frontier Power. I have not received my first bill yet. But, their pricing was much better.

Anymore I'm not sure there's much difference. They're all just billing companies so it's just a rate shopping game. Been years since I spoke to anyone at one of these "companies". Been with Discount..they send a bill, I pay it. Don't want to mess with it so I signed up with Texas Power Agents and they do all that mess...like energy ogre. Don't matter who your with, when the power goes out, you call the real provider to fix it TNMP, Oncor etc. Good luck with it tho!

Our place is similar with two meters. As it has worked out over the years those meters are now not supplied by the same provider, I guess because the rate differences between small user and the average house user kw hours I never could find one plan that was best for both. So now with two different companies it is working out OK, but who would have thought?

I just renewed with Pulse Power, finished up a 3 yr contract at 10.2 kwh and signed a new 3 yr deal for 8.3 kwh. Never had any issues with them so I stuck with them.

Pulse Power has awful reviews, can anyone offer another review on Pulse Power. Has anybody used Ohm Connect?

I just pay energy Ogre to manage my electricity contracts and renewals. Yes, it has a monthly fee, but with today's energy prices it doesn't take much to save a lot more than the monthly fee. I've found it well worth it.

That's how I found the companies I mentioned above.

I may do that when it's time to renew my house, but my average usage for the shop is about 200 kWh per month. The bill has been around $35 a month, not worth adding $10 a month for that one. However, with the Build Back Better rates it looks like it will be going up about $20 a month. The rate for just the electricity is up about 60% from my last plan. Thanks, Brandon!

Well, that didn't work out. I didn't get it done last night and today their rate had gone up quite a bit. I just signed up with Frontier.
