Otters are much bigger and swim much more graceful than a nutria. No comparison.

I've seen plenty of them in Southeast Texas over the years. They are pretty cool to watch, super playful and curious animals. Not sure I would feel the same if I had a stocked fishing pond.

I have seen them in the Angelina River while paddling in a canoe, pretty cool animals.

We get them occasionally in our stock tanks here in northwestern Walker county. They come through, eat a few fish and move on. Neighbor had one already this spring. Get beavers every now and then as well.

Texas A&M says there are several breeding groups in Bedias Creek that runs from North Zulch all the way to the Trinity.

Caught a six footer in the ditch running thru my neighbors property think they used it to go from pond to pond, Hardin County

Have seen a couple in Red River County. One in a ditch full of water and one walking through the woods hundreds of yards from any water

There's one outside the gate at the Daingerfield State park right now that someone ran over a week or so ago.
