Nothing you do will help this stuff taste better. The closest I have come as I have to do this every 2 years... Chicken broth

          So true.

The only tattoo I have is INSIDE my colon. Took a polyp out and marked the spot so they can come back to it.

I had an upper and lower a year ago! I remember just before dozing off; I asked if they were going to do the upper first... She calmly replied; we use two different cameras honey.

To the OP… I lost my dad to Colon Cancer in 2006 at the age of 57.

I was nervous! The upper was good and they found one polyp in the colon last year. I get to repeat every five years due to family history, if they find anything at five years it becomes three and if they find anything at that time it becomes yearly!

I hope your test results come back good.
At what age should you start getting a colonoscopy? I'll be 47 in less than a month.

With NO family history or the connecting factor of uterine cancer from your mother or hers.

Most doctors will say 50. My dad got his first one at 53 and it was too late, he endured a four year battle with a disease that has no remorse!

47 is a great time to start talking to your doctor about the procedure. Peace of mind!

Put it this way. As many, or more young men half your age are being diagnosed with colon cancer. The common denominator in recent studies has a lot to do with fast food and junk food.

Y'all are lucky.. I'm only 29 and have already had one! They name that stuff "go lightly" which is a complete oxymoron and I had to replace a chair because of that stuff. There is no warning and the slightest "fluff" is disastrous!!

Dumb question but why do they knock you out for the procedure? Is it painful to do while awake or something? I am going to be getting mine done right after the first of the year.

Cause they are fixin to run several feet of hose up your rear and they want you to hold still.

Repainting the bathroom is the funniest ever, u lights be on tv. I got luck and took the pills. My last memory was a nurse with a big black garden hose over her shoulder, I said what's that, she said it's for you, I said all of it, yep. I went out before drugs took affect.
                                Good luck!
