The procedure itself was nothing, but it took me all the next weekend to repaint the bathroom after the cleanse...One minute I was telling my wife that I didn't think the stuff was working and the next I was running down the hall trying to get my pants down as the alien creature that had possessed my gut grew from basketball size to volkswagon size. I made it to the pot but the blowback went right up my back and hit the ceiling and splattered the whole room.

My doc used his own recipe and the nurse the next day told me " I just LOVE assisting (my doctor) on his cases because his patients are always SO CLEAN!"

I was like...uhhh...no kidding...want to help me repaint my bathroom?

Had mine done in October and that's the same flush kit I used. Felt like someone had rubbed a ghost chili on my sphincter by the end of the evening.

Matter of fact, they have to go from both ends, and are going to try to meet in the middle.

Is it wise to eat a quart of jalepenos right before the procedure? I heard that helps the camera take better pictures?

I am having one next week. Not looking forward to the preparation. The nurse didn't warn me about anything; I am glad you folks said to be close to the porcelin throne! Actually I looked online, and saw one recommendation to bring a book and just camp on it!

Besides Gatorade, what else do you guys use for the mix? I can't stand Gatorade.

Put mine on hold for two years. Everything worked out fine in the end.

I'm not going for a routine check-up. They are trying to find the cause of a pain problem. I don't have any other symptoms or "issues" so they feel the best thing is to take a look. I hope they figure it out.

Just be thankful you are getting it done for a screening process and not due to an inflammatory process like diverticulitis. Oh heavens, even after a month-6 weeks of antibiotics, the prep was excruciating for me. Talk about howling at the moon!!!!!! In the end I lost 12 inches of colon because of it. I need to get a routine scope done and I just haven't been able to get myself set up for it. 6 painful preps in the past and I can't seem to convince myself it won't be that bad as the inflamed part is no longer there. That and trying to drink the stuff, just makes me nauseated thinking about it.
But as others have said, the test itself is a breeze, you'll sleep thru it all.

Just choke it down fast and avoid spicy food the week prior.

Set up your bathroom for a long stay, laptop, TV, books etc
