Correct. They administer and leave. They don't stay "present" during the procedure, as they do for general. Twas the reason I asked if they were "present" for the procedure.

Ahh, gotcha. I would think they'd stay through recovery, but I have no idea

you gotta make sure he doesn't have both hands on your shoulders during the procedure. Also, I had him sign a form for my wife saying he didn't find my head up there.

I am going to have a hard time just drinking the shear volume of the magic potion required even if it tasted good, if it taste as bad as you say that may not even be doable. I can't drink a lot, even beer! I have been knocked out probably 7-8 times for various surgeries etc and to me the worst part of any of them was the waking up feeling sick to my stomach and then tossing my cookies an hour later. The procedure was nothing and the pain afterwards minor. I hate throwing up! Ugggg....

I've been put under for a 4 hour left knee reconstruction. Not fun!

All I know is I have had three and don't remember anything about any of them execpt going in and having a IV put in and then getting woke up afterwards. To me that is being put under maybe it is called something else but I was asleep and don't remember anything.

Just had it done. Worst part for me was not eating for awhile. Went in the room and next thing I knew I was done.

In my case it was about 3 hours till the alien invaded my gut, then about 3 seconds later it was all over with but the cleanup.

Wow, somebody revived a 10 year old thread.

I had mine done last Tuesday and the prep was harder on me than usual(pill form). The alien inside of me toasted a couple of pair of underwear and passing battery acid over my hemorrhoids has them still screwed up a week later.
