Will a 410 shotgun kill a deer???????????????(for my kid)

My 10 year old daughter loves to sit with me in my pop-up when I bow hunt. I let her have her 410 with 6 shot for a turkey if one comes in. I am sure they make buckshot or a slugs for 410 gauge. What shot is best for a 20 to 25 yard shot on a deer? Or, don't shoot a deer with a 410 shotgun. I just shoot deer with bow and arrows, so I would like TBH thoughts.

410 slug will get the job done.

id use a slug. i took a doe when i was younger with a slug at about 40 yds. just make sure you can practice with her and make sure she can put it in a pie plate at that range. accuracy is gonna be important. not the same knockdown as with a rifle or 12ga slug good luck

Should get the job done, but within bow range. Definately spend a few bucks and pattern the gun at 30yds or so. I know friends who have taken deer with one.

A .410 slug will definitely kill a deer. Keep your shot inside 35 yards and make sure the gun is sighted in right. My stepbrother killed 2 deer with a .410 loaded with slugs.

Friend of mine from Indiana, where they hunt shotgun all the time, says a 410 packs more punch than a 243 at 75 yds or less....just not as accurate as you get further out. My 11 y/o son hunts with 410....but use slugs!
