Yep, we'll be setting some stands over water holes. Most of them have been dry the last season. I'm sure there'll be plenty of water this year. My wife is flying in for 5 days of our hunt and will be videoing, hopefully I can get a shot on video.

Anyone have any pics from the Loveland/Estes Park/Unit 20 area?

I am going on an unexpected archery elkhunt this season. I figured I was done hunting the mountains until this deal came up. An outfitter out of Pagosa hired my wife as cook for one of his guided rifle elk camps and as payment he is putting me in a drop camp free of charge. In the South San Juan Wilderness.

Oscar, are you a DIY elk hunter or do you hire a guide or outfitter?

South San Juan Wilderness is cool country. What outfitter is it?

been all through there and know most of the outfitters. It is rough country. Plenty of elk in there.

Larry Melton of Fish Creek Outfitters.
We hired him for a summer pack trip thru his other company, Majestic Outfitters, at the first of July and during the course of that trip the offer came up.

                        First Lite Pants

                        Hey guys,

If anyone is interested in First Lite I finally got my hands on some at RMSGear in Denver. I will absolutely get a pair of the new Corrugate synthetic pants and a Chama Hoodie before elk season. The pants are awesome. Lots of stretch and the Fusion Camo looks really nice. Just a FYI

Why not buy it direct when you come to Idaho then? You know it's located in Ketchum which is real close to places we talked about...
