I know the feeling. First weekend I shot a doe and couldn't find her after looking that evening 'till 9 pm and then the next morning 'till 10. I've seen Plenty of does in the GC but no more coming to the feeder during light. I've been there every friday afternoon and Saturday. This past Friday I did see a young 8 that didn't meet the AR, but he was just passing through. To make matters worse, both my GC quit on me about a week ago, so I have no idea what is going on. The corn is getting eat'n though.

I know that's what's going on here in north Texas.

Don't hunt the feeder. Find the trail where they move thru the area. The bucks where I hunt like to hang back in the brush.

I don't even start "hunting" until thanksgiving through end of season. Even though I'll start sitting in October everything before that is just me getting some time in the woods and relaxing.

I've been thinking about that, but I don't want to spook them off of their "well beat'n path." Also, I'd have to sit on the ground or get a new stand 'cause I only have my one pop up at the moment.

              For all of you young guys getting discouraged out there;

              NEVER Quit.

NEVER give up on yourself & your ability.

              AND…

NEVER pass up a chance to get in the woods….

There will come a day when you would give anything to get in the woods just one more time….

              Now Get Out There!

This^ The deer in the area are probably feeder shy. It might be that they are getting shot at or spooked at (happy Halloween) another property. I never hunt feeders because of this back off 150 yards or so and hunt the trails.

What is ur weather like try putting out a water set up it is being hammered @ both of my leases, Bucks, Doe, hogs,Horses, Sheep(until I put a pen around it), and A FOX.

when i get frustrated at not seeing deer, and question even going out when I have the chance...I answer a single question:
Can I kill a deer sitting on the couch?
No matter how much i strike out in the woods, my chances of killing off this couch are way less.

X2 A lot of my friends used to say that I was always lucky. I kept telling them that if you spend as much time in the woods as I do the law of averages says that you will get opportunities. Keep going. If it was easy it would be called killing instead of hunting. I've had the slowest year that I have ever had in my life. Looking forward to maybe smelling some gunpowder this weekend. Hopeful anyway.

I haven't even started hunting yet. Got everything set up and cameras out, but it can be depressing this time of year. I'd rather go to the ranch and get other stuff done and wait till it's cooler/closer to the rut. With the recent rain and the new winter weeds they don't want to hit the feeders.

Stick with it- you can't hunt them from the house. I am all too familar with the feeling though. It can be really frustrating but just when you quit, the next sit brings what you are looking for.
I told a friend of mine that God giving us a hunger for bowhunting was His way to teaching us patience.

i am kinda in the same boat. The only does i have seen have been running full throttle to get away from the pack of coyotes chasing them. 8 deer and 3 coyotes. I did see some 2.5yr old small horn bucks but nothing like the good ones we have on camera. This new growth has our deer grazing all over the place at our lease.

It's been slow all over. It's finally starting to pick up here at the ranch but still nowhere near the movement we saw leading up to opening week and the first 7-10 days of the season. It'll get better; especially when the daytime temps drop down some more.
