Doe and Management Hunts

He's been furniture in there. In 4 sits, my buddy David saw him three times. We also have pics of him there on Friday morning.

I just talked to my Dad. He asked if any wide 8's had been killed. I told you that the deer he saw at John's Stand really got his blood pumping. We are working on a date for Jan. or Feb.

Your dad can rest assured for the time being as that big wide 8 is still out there, chasing does around.... for now ! However, you'll have to check again this after this weekend. I have a feeling about this weekend and I think deer will go down. What is the fate of that big 8.....We'll see! Let me know on a date!

Johnny,I have hunted there twice,and will be back the weekend before you.. I can promise you that you will not be disappointed..

I personally like the last deer in the above pics,high and tight.. The others are very nice also.

I will post another report after the hunt,this will be the first hunt with my son in 5 or 6 years.. I can't wait. It will be good to get back in the wood's with him again.

Sounds like a great time Alan. Yep, those are some good looking 8's for sure and I hope you and your son have some luck this weekend! We got a big front blowing in out that way Friday night/Saturday morning. This looks to be the strongest front of the fall season with some good wind behind it. Just to give you an idea how strong this front will be...it will be around freezing overnight Saturday night/Sunday morning with winds gusting to 25 mph or so. I don't mind hunting the wind as long as it is a cold wind out of the north. For the most part, the deer don't seem to mind either. Looking forward to the report!

Jeremy is doing his last Ambulance rideout this weekend,then he has his final test.. He is so ready to come to the Cross J and get something on the ground.
I will be cooking plenty of venison that my daughter killed there in Oct. So bring your appetite.

Both Larry and I will be at the ranch for the weekend you are there. I just hope Johnny's crew doesn't shoot the rest of the deer on the ranch before you get there!

Going a little semi-live here. Johnny the tbh weather guru and arrowhead master brought his son and nephew to try and get them a couple of bucks this weekend. His dad is along to supervise and maybe hunt as well if the kids have success. Cool and foggy and downright deery this evening! Hunters are in stands and hopes are high. There was a small buck chasing two does around camp when I pulled up. More later!
