I will also put long range rifles (0-1000yards) together ready to hunt if anyone is interested.

Those school can teach you all you want but can't do it for you!!

Here is my rookie advice as I have overcame (and still work on it) a major flinch problem and **** poor shooting.

I used the Kimber I put up for trade in the classifieds. No recoil. Not very loud. Great trigger.

Got on your target on a good rest. With an empty chamber pretend to shoot it EXACTLY as if there was a live round in it. Spot it, make the wind call, trigger pull etc. It's all about repetition.

Shoot over and over with this rifle, then a few with your big gun.

Good ear muffs go a long way. I use electronic ones and if it's a real screamer wear ear plugs and the muffs. Or a can

Just like anything, practice makes perfect, it has really helped me. And this was the same advice given to me by a freind who shoots to a mile very very well. One of the best shooters I have ever seen.

            Good luck.

Any caliber you want... I have shot my 7mm-08 effectively out there as well as .308. I guess it depends on what rifle you are learning how to fine time with and how far you want to shoot whether it be for competition or personal hunting

I agree. Before I really started shooting, I shot the shoulder mount in my house and several cows in the pasture with a good ol snap cap... Really gets you used to knowing when that trigger will release and then more confidence with the rifle. Very odd feeling at first when doing this but it worked for me

Owned and operated by Jim Smith, former DELTA/CAG sniper. Made famous from the blackhawk down movie (he was in the first helo that went down.) He offers a long range hunters course. I was sent to his carbine and sniper course through the military. Some of the best training I have ever received. Made the Army sniper school look like a joke. His compound is located in Jacksboro.

Nice place and great staff from what I have been told..

I also have a TOP NOTCH Instructor with PLENTY of creds that can vetted that is close to your area, former shooter for the Army AMU and sniper instructor and current military contractor. Pm me if you want his contact info..

I went 6 years without hunting with a rifle, I got heavy into duck hunting, and bought a mule kicking caliber rifle. This shoulder beater is the one I decided to start back rifle hunting with. I am still very efficent in killing a deer out to around 300yds but my grouping isn't where I want it. I'd like to find someone to help me break my habits. When I flinch shooting a crossbow... Yeah I've got a problem. Where, how much, and what can I expect from the school? Thanks in advance
Im gonna buy a camera and start my own reality show about your everyday life.....you always are doin something cool! Well both be rich! Wish I could afford to go to a school like gunwerks!
