I know folks who race pigeons, how does one distinguish a racing pigeon from a regular pigeon ??

After you shoot it there will be band on their leg...Atleast thats what happened to me, oooops.

I don't let mine out during evening hours during dove season.

If they are landing in a field, around water, etc. they're probably wild. Mine only land on their loft.

Depends on location.
Most cities don't allow any shooting inside limits.
Some are also "bird santuarys".
NO bird shooting there!
Otherwise - go for it.

A few years back the dove hunting wasnt any good but the pigeons came into the field by the hundreds every mornin. I made some cardboard silhouette decoys and then would just put my mojo in the middle of them and we would go to town on them! They come in just like ducks with their wings cupped! Lots of fun!
