I witnessed a socialist marxist non citizen become president of MY America that I fought in Vietnam for. I am sadder than I have ever been in my life, for my country and for my grand kids, not so much for me because I have already been thru hell and back. As I watch daily what is happening to America the gloom just deepens. I pray that the voters wake up in time to save our land or the free.

I have my wife, and my daughter.
I had just proposed to my wife on the 4th, she was a flight attendant. I spent the whole day in a panic, she had just flown out of LaGuardia that morning. I didn't hear from her until nearly dark that evening, but when I found she was OK in Atlanta, I promised her that she could do anything her heart desires, just don't do this. She went back to school, and is now a teacher. My daughter was born in 03, and I couldn't imagine life without her. She's the most amazing thing ever.

It's a long story. But 9/11 is responsible for my salvation, my marriage and my moving to the US from England.

When my cell phone rings you hear Diamond Reo singing loud and proud..."IN GOD WE STILL TRUST". If it offends anyone then that's their problem.
Since 9/11 I have learned to keep my faith in God and lost my faith in the government.
God protect our Troops, Police Officers and Firemen. Thanks you men and women for what you do.

It's funny how some of you say that you have become more patriotic since that day. The exact opposite has happened to me.
In the first few weeks after 9/11 we were a country in mourning. As time went on we became a country in paranoia. We instituted the most horrendous piece of legislation of the last decade (the "Patriot" Act) based on FEAR. A new layer of beaurocracy was invented called DHS, basically nothing more than a group of individuals given nearly unlimited powers to spy on innocent American because - remember now and repeat after me - the boogeyman is out there!
9/11 was a terrible day. I know people who were killed on that day. Of course something that monstrous is going to cause change. But what has happened in our country over the past decade is nothing short of sad.
1. Patriot Act (really the UNpatriot Act)
2. Creation of DHS
3. Creation of TSA
4. TSA now touching people and imaging their bodies without any reasonable suspicion
5. NDAA legislation
6. Loss of individual liberties in the name of fear and paranoia
I could go on but I won't. I have always loved my country and I still do. But there is nothing wrong with pointing out the errors of our ways. We have a great deal of work to do until the mistakes we've made over the last 10 years have been fixed. I'm glad many of you still have the faith in gov't that you have. Keep waving your flags and singing your songs. Maybe one day I'll do that again too.

I'm not complaining, but there is a small airport where I first flew in a Cessna when I was a kid. That was my first aviation experience and it meant so much to me. Back then, there were no security cameras or security passes required to pass through a gate.
I hadn't been back to that same airport for years until a year ago. Now, there are cameras everywhere, and you must have a security pass to go through the gate and have a legitimate reason for being there. All I can say is it sure felt and looked totally different. I'm not saying that increased security is a bad thing. It was just different seeing and experiencing the obvious changes after 9-11.

Ok. Here's the vid with my story. It's about 14 mins long.
It was recorded pre-thyroid med, so I was quite, "swollen" at the time.
In words... I was living in England when 911 happened. The event moved me in such a way that I could not fathom. It did not seem to hit other people in the UK in the same way it hit me, and I was at a loss. At the time, I was communicating with this guy from Liverpool, TX who was building a custom bass guitar for me. I told him how I felt after 911 and he told me I was seeking Jesus. He prayed with me, answered my questions and I was born again! (I had said the prayer when I was 12, but never took it to heart).
Through all of this, we fell in love - online - without meeting. We decided that we would get married when he came to deliver my bass guitar. It was all arranged before he got here. The day after he arrived, we drove to Scotland and got married.
We lived in the UK for a year while we got the visas sorted for me and my son, and moved to Houston in May 2003.
I have since heard about several people who have become born again as a result of 911. While there are many things that can scare us or make us feel uncertain in this life, there ain't nothing like knowing the certainty of our eternal destination, and having no fear.
