Lufkin is less than 2 hrs from the airport. Lake Sam Rayburn, Lake Nakadoches, Kurth Lake, Lake Livingston, Toledo Bend, Davy Crockett National Forrest, Angelina National Forrest, TONS of Timber Co leases, WMA and Type 2 Land, awesome football program... I'm just sayin

Moved to Katy after growing up in Corpus. Absolutely love it, and would never think of leaving unless I had to. Everything you need is here. 40 minutes to airport, and less than 30 to downtown or ball parks! Bass Pro,Academy, and Gander. Duck and goose hunting within 15-40 minutes depending on where the birds are!

I live on the north side of Conroe, just south of Willis. I love it out here, and only about 40 minutes from the airport.

Cypress to high on taxes. Kingwood would be my choice. My.02 worth.

I've lived in the city of Katy since 1977. The good is this is an area of growth. KISD is considered one of the premier school districts around Houston. Good police and fire protection. Duck and goose hunting can be just about at your front door - lots of rice fields around. Lake Sommerville and Conroe are about equal distant.

The bad - KISD taxes are pretty stout.

I've got a good buddy who moved to Magnolia, just outside of Houston. I was impressed with the area when I visited him. Nice wooded subdivision, I believe he has 5-6 acres.

Wanting to be near everytvhing like shomrt drive to movies mall dinner etc? Or off a dirt road? I like montgomery area...were in tomball which is next to Montgomery in our area everyone is on a few acres some more but there are normal subdivisions close by too. Sugarland is nice so is the woodlands and Katy...all depends if you want close community or not? I myself would not live in actual Houston. Tomballs too close in my opinion but its convenient. Close enough to work in major hospitals for me and its quiet. I dove hunt 30 minutes frommy house. 2 minutes if I can talkthe rancher next to me into it. Few ponds and creekd within 15 min to fish. I hunt deer and hogs less than 40 miles door to door

^This. I have grown up in Beaumont since I was 2 years old and have absolutely loved it. I spent my 5 years in college in Lubbock, but by the end of it all I wanted to do was get back this way and finally I have. There is tons of great hunting within 20 minutes of Beaumont and I'm not just talking bird hunting either. I have access to property within 10 minutes of the Beaumont city limits and have killed numerous deer off of it and have had buddies kill numerous deer in the 140's and one this past season in the 150's, all within 20 minutes of my house in the West End of Beaumont. Me and 3 of my buddies killed our 4 limits of dove Monday morning within 5 minutes of College Street, and not to forget the 25 minute drive to Sabine Lake for excellent trout and redfishing, and 40 minutes from Louisiana...casinos, fishing, etc...
