    Gun Safe????

Thanks to the classifieds here and gunbroker I am in need of a new larger gun safe.

I would like to buy one and be done for life. I will save for it and finally rip the band aid off... So money isnt the biggest factor. I hope to fill that safe up and then buy another Safe to fill up!

I have a tendency to spend about 1500+ a gun... So I would like something to protect them from would be thieves, or fire. I need a pretty large safe but still movable (coaching).

I started looking at them and just got more and more confused...

What Brand? What Price range for that brand? Pros and cons for that brand? Best place to buy?

    Whats the GS braintrust think?

    Thanks!

I just bought the big Cannon 48 gun safe from Academy. 60"x40"x30", 700 lbs & fire rated 1200F for 30 min. So far I love it!

I just got a Remington safe from Academy for $799, 24 long gun capacity. Rated for 1400 degrees for 60 minutes which seems to be better than most. Probably weighs 500 lbs or so. Has the locking bolts all the way around, not just on one side of door. I like it. Would say it holds 8 long guns comfortably one one side of the safe while using the other side as storage. Adjust the shelving to get long gun capacity on both sides.

My next safe will be a Sturdy Safe.

Built to order and 100% American made. Call the owner Terry and talk to him. If you don't buy one of his safe's I'll be amazed. The options are pretty much only limited by your imagination and pocketbook of course.

Sturdy Gun Safe manufactures gun safes, pistol safes and vault doors sold direct at discounted pricing. Thicker steel, real fireproofing and custom options, for less!

Coach if you are looking to buy your last safe, pass on all of the cookie cutter safes out there and get you one that will last a lifetime and have more real security and fire resistant features for about the same money.

I have a safe from A&C and it's ok but not what I want for my final safe. It will get me through for a couple more years.

It was $799 before tax. I also paid a delivery service $250 to get it in the house (which I probably could've easily done for a fifth that price had I rented an appliance dolly) Here's a couple of pics I snagged off the net of it...

                    Liberty Safes.

                    Hands down.

We did a lot of research on safes before we purchased, we went with the Liberty Franklin 50.
They aren't cheap, but they built to last and have amazing customer service and dependibility.

Hopefully it wont be my last... I plan on filling it up and buying another.

But I DONT plan on replacing it. I lloked at that website they look pretty neat. Definately pricey... and have all sorts of options.

Any suggestions there? Not as far as size but the options? some of it seems WAY over kill... like the torch resistant panels... No body wants my guns bad enough to bring in a torch and start cutting away..

What exactly is that term referring to price? if so how cheap?

I'm sorry that was supposed to say they aren't cheap! refering to the cost.

                          We got a huge safe, 41 guns, it is 72.5" x 42" x 30.5".

Pricey is in the eye of the beholder I guess. For the features you get, I believe they are right in line. And I have no doubt they are built way better than the mass produced safes.

Have you ever seen how easy it is to get into most conventional safes? You can get into most of them in about a minute with nothing more than a fire axe.
