Just an observation. Some UT fans say they don't care, yet they practically live on a thread about A&M leaving. It's kind of hard to believe you don't care when you read and post every few minutes about the very topic that you supposedly don't care about.

I don't care if A&M goes or stays (I hope they go), but whatever they do has a direct impact on my team. That is what I care.

This is correct. Again, I am just giving the other side of the situation. Most of my Aggie friends that jumping to the SEC is going to solve every issue they have. They will starting winning more and they will start making more money. They see a jump to the SEC has a magical bean stalk that is an instant fix and I am just giving the other side of the situation.

You know I respect your opinion and believe your facts. I'm just trying to show the other, other side. The truth is if A&M leaves the Big 12, the SEC will be better off and the Big 12 will be worse.

It's definitely more of a football thing, but all games against OU are big. It's strange though. For most fans I know the rivalries differ from sport to sport.
Football...............OU
Basketball..............OU/A&M are pretty much even. A&M has been the bigger game since OU went on probation and lost a bunch of their team.

the reason why is because of what ut fans don't like to admit. It's that ATM is your biggest rival. And that is due to us also having a strong athletic department and proving who is best in the state at each and every sport.
Ut may also have a rivalry with ou to prove who is best in the conference on particular years in particular sports, but the state rivalry is every year even if both schools are mediocre that year on a national level.

There is no doubt that is correct.........unless (now its my time to play the what if game) the Big 12 adds Notre Dame. Then the Big 12 is stronger and has the potential to make more money than it could with Texas A&M.

Virtually every Texas fan I know couldn't care less about any sport other than the big 3 so the whole Texas Cup thing (cant rememeber what it's called) is meaningless to me.

I could care less about volleyball, track, womens basketball, etc. I suppose the "rivalry" is different for all of us.

When I was growing up in the 70's I hardley knew who the Aggies were. Arkansas was easily the second biggest game on the schedule. In the mid 80's when the Aggies had their run I was amazed at all the Aggies coming out of the woodwork and talking trash.

Texas' biggest rival is was and always will be OU. This crap about OU caring more about OSU is silly at best. The two teams and fanbases hate each other....it is the Red River War. The biggest football game in this state every year.

Texas has been a top 3 all sports school for a decade. Last year they fell out for obvious reasons. Their compitition is Stanford and Florida, Michigan. Welcome to the party Aggies. Hopefully you can stay awhile.
