If we treat it by Aggie ring dunkin' standards that's not necessarily true... Is it?

        It's all in fun...

BoB step away from the computer. It is just a football game bud. Don't lose your cool.

Every School has cycles. It used to be SMU as the powerhouse, UH had it's run, USC had one, Miami had one, and oh yeah..UT had one. I can also say that Michigan had one, Ohio St., Bama, LSU...many big schools. Heck, Tennessee used to be great.

Glad you had your run, now sit back and wish while others take control. Not saying it will be ATM, but it may be. Or may be OU, or Bama again, or Florida State. you follow.[/quote

FYI...Texas had 2 baseball titles in baseball in the 50's, 2 football titles in the 60's....one football and one baseball in the 70's....a baseball in the 80's with a near miss in football....2 baseball and one football in the 200's with two more near misses.

You can call it all sports, or just call it football! I thought you only paid attention to football, so I figured you could follow me. Those schools at football used to all be dominant and had their run. So sorry UT's run has come to an end. ESPN has tried to give UT a shot of adrenalin, but it is yet to be determined if it will work. Next year and the 3 following it will tell the tale.

You speak for you.. not all Longhorn or OU fans.
You speak for you and, from my experience, the minority.

In 13 years UT has more National Champ game appearances and top 5 finishes than most teams (including A&M) have in their entire history and "their run has come to an end"???

Wow..........sure glad I got to see it

That is a possibility. I said after that the next 3 years will tell the tale. I shouldn't speak factually as we don't know for sure. But I think there is a chance.

My main point was it's very difficult for any college team/program to maintain that high of a level of production for a very long time. Look at Notre Dame. They used to be STRONG!!!!...now, making a come back from being pretty crappy. JMO!

In all fairness, Houston did win the SWC title in 1976, 1978, and 1979. So, you could say they had a little run in there. It's not like UT wasn't in the conference at that time. Not to mention Ware routing UT 47-9 in the dome back in '89.
