Just got done soaking it in Salt water. Talk about some nasty stuff coming out. It was allot more painful before they cut it out. No real pain since it was cut out. No, I am not taking any pain killers. They did use a local anesthetic ? before cutting it out.

What is it about us, that when we're told not to do something, we always do it anyhow? Well, I googled it also, and I sure wish I hadn't... Pretty bad stuff

You should be on antibiotics...I never took the Dr prescribed painkillers after, as the majority of the pain was before.

Yes they injected me with a numbing agent directly into the hole and that was the most painful thing ever, I screamed.

Been there done that. The first time I got it they misdiagnosed it as a spider bite. Started on antibiotics and it kept getting bigger. Finally got so bad I couldn't walk. By the time they figured out it was MRSA it had gotten into my blood. I had a pic line put into my heart and was on Vancomyacin for 2 weeks. When they put the pic line it was 3 inches too long and was keeping one of my heart valves from closing basically flooding my heart. Almost caused a heart attack. Finally after 2 weeks of meds they went to remove the pic line and it wouldn't come out. It had formed some fiber tissue in a place in my artery. Long story short it dang near killed me 3 times the first time I got it.
Have had it twice since but neither of those got in my blood so it's not as serious just painful from the wound. Haven't got it since I got off the EMS.

Actually spiders do carry community acquired MRSA. MRSA used to be just a nosocomial infection meaning it was only acquired in the hospital. It made it's way out into the community spiders, fire ants now are known carriers.

IIRC a few high school athletes died a few years back due to MRSA infections. It's bad stuff if you don't stay on top of it.

maybe its just coincidence, but I really started itching as I started reading through this thread...
