Most people get it at the hospital

Hospitals, gyms, nursing homes, military baracks, anywhere there is a collection of people for an extended period of time. That is definitley something you do not want according to what I read after seeing this post.

Spent a week hooked up to iv years ago. Not fun. Bactrim and clyndomycin are your friend. Doubt that is the last time you get it.

Had almost the same thing right below my naval... Emergency surgery and in the hospital for 4 days on massive iv antibotics. I had to clean and pack the wound with gause.. daily. It has to heal from the inside out..

The only good thing is I meet my future wife while there.... I am truly blessed!!

I had it twice in high school, got it in the locker room during 2 a days. Never seen anything like it.

yep you got it cut out!!!! hurts like hell, that is exactly what mine used to look like. I have gotten 10-15 since my freshman year of college. Havent got one in 6 months, fingers crossed

I have had 2-3 cut out and all looked like that. Still have the scars to prove it. Good luck, after its cut out and on meds all is good just watch for infection.

Above my knee and below belly button. Bactrim works well on staph but after a while if you keep getting it, you will need to switch meds because it will start not working and the Staph will become resistant to it.

I got it from my best friend in our dorms and then could not get rid of it.

I have been to many Dr's about it and here is what I can tell you:

                              - there is nothing you can do to erase it all from your body
                              - everyone has STAPH in their body
                              - do not use the same wash cloth/towel(use a new one each time you shower, this has helped alot),
                              - drink lots of water when you get one
                              - usually you can feel another one coming on as 1-2 days before it pops up your body will become extremely tired for no reason.
                              - get to DR asap if you have one that doesnt go away, you will become an expert at identifying/feeling if it is Staph
                              - get your Dr to write you a prescription for an extra set of bactrim for when you get it again, so you dont have to go in the Dr. and pay outrageous costs just for a prescription

If you have any ?s PM me, I will help if I can

I can feel it!!! It's like finding a flea on the dog or a tick after you've been in the field. You can just feel them crawling all over you.
