Alcohol during a hunt

I can hunt with beer or no beer, but I definately prefer to have a few cases on hand
In all seriousness, I enjoy my beer, before and after a hunt. If the place didn't allow it doesn't mean I wouldn't hunt there. I have been on hunts where all we did was drink and very little hunting. We enjoyed being with each other and sharing stories, just as much of hunting as being in the field when you are at a camp.Jeff Young

I personally would not pay money to be on a lease that had a no alcohol policy, but that's just me. I don't believe in getting drunk and riding around shooting up the place, was on a lease like that for a few years and hated the guys on it who figured the whole weekend was a bust unless they got drunk. It was a beer camp, not a deer camp just like Joey said earlier. That being said, I'm a grown man and if I want to drink a beer I drink one or two or twelve.
However, I have hunted/worked on ranches and outfitted hunts that didn't allow adult beverages in the property and I lived to tell about it. To me, it did take a bit away from the hunt, especially after the evening hunts. I would not recommend it as a policy to anyone doing commercial hunts simply because I think 95% of the paying clientèle are at the very least social drinkers. (I'm not referring to you, Dale or you either, Stolle! LOL) If it's a liability issue, buy more insurance. If it's a moral issue you're trying to push off on others, you just lost my business and everyone else I know.
Oh, and I'll up the bid to $6.32 to see the picture of Dale we all have come to love regarding this subject.

The first 2 leases I was on were no alcohol places. I was on them for a combined 15yrs. Had a ball on those places and wouldn't trade the memories for anything. I drank then and still do now, but honestly it just wasn't a big deal not being able to. At the same time, I wouldn't have any problem hunting on a place that allowed alcohol. I'd prefer it be after the hunting; not before, between, or during though. I'm sure this aint a popular opinion, but even in "moderation", I have a hard time getting my mind around the idea of mixing any kind of firearm and alcohol. To me it's just a better idea to leave the partying til after the huntin is done for the day.

The key word is R-E-S-P-O-N-S-I-B-L-E. We should all be responsible adults and try to set a good example. Heck yeah, have a few drinks in the evening if you feel the need just do not get out of hand. Let's see.... family, friends, hunting camp, cooking, guns, bow and arrows, cards, story telling, a few drinks, memories yeap sounds like a place where I will be.
