I'm a Costa Junky. Blue mirror 580 is the best all-around glass to me. It darkens things up more than the green mirror. In-shore (in green water) the green 580's are the best.

I have a pair of blue mirror "Draft" frameless that I wear during the work day and for driving. Extremely light so you don't know they are on. Had them for years.

Rincon's in Silver Teak with Green mirror 580 for bay fishing.

Yellowfin with blue 580 glass for off-shore

Switchfoot with amber 400 CR-39 for stream/clear water fishing

Ponce black with green 400 glass for guests on the boat to wear

And a pair of tropic star camo frames with interchangable lenses for hunting

If anyone in Houston/Sugarland/Katy/Brazoria County wants to borrow a pair to try out, let me know.

I just sold a pair of Tortouse frame 400 glass Pescador's and a pair of black Pumphouse with grey 400 glass.

      Did I say I'm a Costa Junky?

on all the fishing boards, they all swear by the 580's....supposedly you can see through the water better and better with some colors of lenses within the 580....

and for potential resale purposes....get the 580's....

I agree with this. I had to try on every pair. Ended up with harpoons. They fit right next to my face. I use them for safty glasses at work. Been hit many times by rocks and they hold up. I have been pushed out of the boat by a buddy fishing as a joke with them on. They stayed on. Flipped a kayak and they stayed on. If you get the ones that fit you they are awsome.

If you have a big head, like mine, then the Man-O-Wars with green 580's are the way to go.

Safety...... well when I am sharpening blades it keeps the sparks out of my eyes, when I am weedeating it keeps the grass clippings out of my eyes, when I am shredding it keeps the dust out of my eyes. They had also repelled pebbles and twigs that have been thrown up by the weedeater. So yes safety glasses in way. I have confidence in there product to protect my eyes from the the dangers of landscaping.

I'm a Costa dealer and my rep told me that 580 is the number for a certain color of yellow that these lenses block. By blocking this yellow you are able to pick up the blues and greens better thereby cutting down on glare.

We tell our customers the most important thing is how they fit. Costa offers so many options that you can get overwhelmed. Find the ones that fit your face and then look at the best frame/lens combo. Just my .02.

Down 2 hunt. You are a dealer. Could you please tell me if your 580 lense are likely to shatter and send glass into my eyes. Being eye wear I would assume there is a coating or it is manufactured to keep the glass from turning into shrapnel. I know they can and will break, it is glass. Everyone knows glass breaks. But will it send shards of glass in my eye? Cause the dealer I bought from seem pretty confident I did not have to worry about shards of glass in my eyes for what I use them for. I am sure they can not with stand a flying rock, however dirt clods, grass clipping, and dust I feel would not be to big a concern. I do know they are not OSHA approved safty glasses and do not expect them to perform like them. But for my use should I be worried?
