Hang with it. It burns a lot of bad habits out of a dog.

Buy the black natural rubber type, like tires and intertubes are made from. I have been through two labs with the same hose still in one piece. There is something about the green vinyl type that they love, but neither dog ever looked at the black hose. Plus the black one won't crack when it bitter cold outside.

I'm thinking he's bored. Our chocolate lab is about 1 1/2 (got him on here a couple months ago) and he had\has a chewing problem. For the most part exercise is the best medicine I've found. Yesterday was a hectic day and we didn't have time to work with him or even spend much time together. Guess what, I came home at 9pm to an upset spouse and a chewed up chair.Yep, I fussed at him a little but he's young and full of energy and he needs a way to work it off.
Fetch is his game of choice. If you keep throwing he will keep bring them back until your arm falls off. If we can play with him and keep him running for about 30 minutes 4 or 5 times a day he's great. If we don't, he gets bored and starts begging for attention or goes and finds something to do which typically isn't a good thing.

I know it may sound harsh but...
Take a nice section of the hose, 6 or 8 feet and duct tape it in his mouth, leave it in there a couple hours, If he eats the hose again, do it again.
He will figure it out!
It may be harsh, but it works.
I know Im gonna take a reaming for that, atleast I dont hump him!
