Is it against the law to stretch a water ballon over a .22 barrel to semi suppress the noise?

Checked my game camera this afternoon and the coons are taking over. There were 6 in one picture Thought about trying to shoot them with a .22 with CB capps and a balloon stretched over the barrel to possibly let me get more than one but don't want to be doing anything illegal as I will possibly have my son with me and don't want to set a bad example

Might take the shotgun but don't really want to make a bunch of noise and disturb the pigs, I have other plans for them

Are the coons in the city or country? Just put out some sardines out by the feeder thats what I did and sat about 20 yds in my truck and shot them with a .17 cal. wait a few min. and they kept coming back to get the sardines.... Or you could get one of those gamo pellet guns. good luck
