Who wants to hunt the Callaghan?

I love trophy hunting as much as anyone......but is there a limit? where does it stop? The reason the anti hunters are winning is because of high priced places like this. hell, you can't afford to hunt at those prices. Sad,sad day when someone puts a price on an "opportunity" to kill a deer at such high price.

That price is why I hunt in Mexico big deer and not much political crap I just got on a place where they killed 3-190's and many more over 170 this year for 1/3 of the price

I've hunted the Kenedy Trust lease several times. It is extremely expensive but very special at the same time.

Who here on the green screen hunts or have hunted the Callahan and what can you tell me about it.

What are the normal buck harvest #'s and doe harvest #'s? I know it varies based on the survey and size of place, but what would be a close averge on each place.

I hunted the La Parra pasture of the Kenedy for about 7-8 years back when Mike Mireles was the foreman before he passed. Let me tell you, it is probably the greatest ranch you could possibly be a part of. So many great memories have come from that place. Summer Wade Fishing on the bay in the morning, then going for an afternoon Nilgai hunt. Can't really beat it. Then oil rigs galore hit the place and I could tell change was coming. Could tell a noticeable difference in wildlife population and price as well . But if you ever get a chance, and want to spend about double what the OP is asking for the place on the callahan, its totally worth it. Also, IMO, the callahan is not worth that price. Leased it for 2 years hunting my ***** off and barely saw any deer

That is unbelievable that the Kenedy Ranch is double the Callaghan in price! I currently lease a pasture on the Callaghan ranch right now, and I have always wanted to hunt the Kenedy ranch just never had any word of how big the deer are out there.

I don't really care what anyone pays and I am glad for the ones that can afford to pay that much and equally proud that someone can make that kind of return on their property


But.......In the grand scheme of things it pushes the prices up all over the state and sadly at some point, the middle class will be hard pressed to hunt private land at all if the trend continues. I think that is more of the thinking behind some of the comments about price JMHO
