So if yall believe they are rolled you wont warranty them? Yes sooner or later, many HS/College bats will be altered/shaved like people in slow pitch are doing.
Yes, if you alter the bat in any way (shave it, roll it, etc) than we do not honor the warranty. High School and College composite bats have been cheated with for years now. When the NCAA tested bats after the post season a couple of years ago over 70% had been altered. That is why they outlawed composites in NCAA play until this new BBCOR standards. If a composite bat passes the BBCOR standard it is legal for play now.

Ok....what is shaved then.....I don't see the explanation of rolled as cheating...it's just speeding up the process of breaking it in.

        Not cool....

How are you going to feel if that Rolled "Cheater Bat" gets someone hurt?

I played a lot of "B" class a lot of "A" and some major 5-6 years ago, and the fact that I swung bats right out of the wrapper is something that I can always say..

Ill let Heath explain it but I THINK rolling just breaks up the wall and shaving is when you shave the wall and make the walls thinner, therefore removing the shavings and making the bat lighter. Shortens the lifespan of the bat, making it crack sooner but makes it extremely hot.

WOW that is crazy. I cam honestly say not 1 person on our NCAA team altered any bats. 70 percent WOW!!!! In other words that is why the new bats suck and are dead?

Good for you, always nice to listen to people talk smack and say o you did this and that and for you to know the bat is brand new and has not been touched. They started complaining last week in league, and I said hey the wrapper is in the dugout sitting on the ground.

Rolling doesn't do anything more than break the bat in immediately. I broke mine in by using it at games...I broke mine in naturally by using it.

When people get hurt is when you shave the bat and endload the bat. This causes a lot more whipping action when the ball is hit. This is where people get hurt and cause serious damage.

Well compared to what they were, they do. I forgot who but think it was a Demarini rep who told our coach that our big bopper who hit 18-20 HR's the year before will be lucky to hit 6-8 this year. My other buddy Clint said they are awful too.

That is my understanding as well, but I dont agree with rolling it is almost just like shaving.

IMHO.....rolling shouldn't be considered as cheating....shaving should be.

...and watch it with the 40-42 bidness.......I am 42 and don't need to roll or shave....or need a composite bat...

My biggest problem is that my 4.6-4.8 speed is now more like 5.0.

Lol I didnt mean anything against you or anyone else. Its just this guys swing was terrible and he had no athletic talent. 4.6 -4.8 speed is blazing if you ask me. But yes it seems alot of people run sub 5's now.

Have you looked into the Plano Mens Senior League....BASEBALL? I played center for the Plano A's from age 32-35.....lots of fun. We lost the title game two years in a row to a team that brought in ringers from the DABA to pitch only in the playoffs. The year after I left dallas they moved to the DABA and got their heads handed to them.

I ran a 4.62 at the NFL Air it Out tourney in 99-00....got a shirt.

Nevermind...I now see Sugarland...for some reason I thought you were in DFW.

                              By league standards... Yes

Rolling is considered cheating by almost every league out there. It is altering and accelerating the bat in a way that the original manufacture intended.

                              My Manufacture standards..... Yes

It voids your warranty on the bat if you alter it in any way.

Is it considered, cheating? That is a gray area, but the official stance from the leagues and manufactures is that it is considered cheating. Now shaving and tampering with end caps and weights is something that is easily defined by cheating.

                                Hot bats are overrated IMO.
