Have you thought of having your bat rolled. I had my daughters Demarini phenix rolled and I was just tossing the ball in the air hitting the ball 300'. It added an easy 40' to their hits.

No I dont need to cheat personally. Especially on my own dollar. Do you think that is fair to alter/improve your daughters bat? Its one thing in slowpitch softball, but in competitive kids sports?

I just think that is taking it a little too far IMHO, but lol I cant judge you. Thats just my opinion.

Dimarini was at one time THE big name in bats....they invented the dual wall trampoline effect. They have not caught up in the composite bats. I played last a couple of years ago in the Valley and I could still hit em out with my Dimarini Classic....never swung a composite.

        What is "rolled"?

Rolled is when they hook it up to a machine and "roll" it. They put some kind of clamp on it and what it does is break it in. Breaks up the inner wall and therefore breaking in the bat. Its like adding a couple hundred swings to it I would guess. No way to really prove its done like shaving unless they do a bad job.

It can be proved that it has been rolled. Every slow pitch bat that we get back in a return is cut open. You can tell if it is cracked evenly throughout the whole bat that it has been rolled. We estimate that 75% of the bats that we get back have been altered. It drives me nuts that people cheat, but what really gets me is when they start altering the bats of their kids.

MHbaseball, let me know if you need an extra player sometime. I just moved to the area and want to get back in the "swing of things" so to speak.

Drove me crazy in COED church league when these gungas had to act big. Couldn't use a regular ol cheapo bat. I just started using softer core balls....and they whined. I told em they could go home or go play big ball somewhere if they wanna strut. We had folks out trying to have fun who hardly play and I didn't want em catchin one in the teeth! 'Sides that, I pitched!

Well I was going off what I thought. Glad you could clarify. I have never rolled one so really just when off what I heard on how it is done. So if yall believe they are rolled you wont warranty them? Yes sooner or later, many HS/College bats will be altered/shaved like people in slow pitch are doing.

It is not my team and I just show up to play. Wish I could bring people/friends. It is actually a guys team here on TBH, I met him and thats who I been playing league with since.

One time in a Victoria tourney me and my ball buddies played and they had a HR derby and this 40-42 year old guy was in it dropping bombs and obviously using an altered bat. He heard us say something and he yelled, "I'm 40, I dont need no shaved bat" lol it was funny because he obviously did because he was small and didnt have a good swing. All I could think to myself is buddy yes you do.

My buddy ended up winning it and taking home the $120 cash and case of beer.
