Brow tines: To Kill or not to Kill?

Well I took this 5 with no brow tines this weekend. He was 2.5 years old. He has no brow tines and doesn't show any evidence as to even starting to push them. After I got back to camp there were some discrepencies as to weather or not this deer was a cull buck or not. IMO if they haven't pushed brow tines and they have pushed this many points then they need to go. What are the opinions of the GS braintrust on how to manage deer without brow tines? Should you let get 3 or 4 years old and see if they turn into anything? Or should you take them out of the heard so they aren't breeding more like them?

BTW he scored a whopping 49!!! I'm thinking about a full sneak shoulder mount

If I'm not hunting in an AR county, he would die on my place.

I like the saying, kill the less desired buck in an age group. If all your other 2 1/2's are better then yes shoot.

unless they're still a spike, free range two year old's are off limits in my book

Sounds like we are about 50/50 on shoot or not to shoot. For the ones that say DON'T shoot, what are the reasons for letting him go and breed another couple years? Especially this year since we had good rains in the spring so the deer got excellent nutrition and should be pushing good horns.

We don't start culling until 3.5 on our place

I had six 8's in there at the same time that were 2.5 - 3.5 and three 6's that were 2.5
