How to Kill Mesquite Trees?

Take a cordless drill, and a wood bit, drill 90 degrees 2 inches above the ground, making sure you hit thr HEART of the tree...it will kill it and it will stand till you cut it.

That kills them everytime? sounds too simple to work so i'm just skeptical.

Make a hole on the mesquite n pour pure diesel n it will not survive.

If you plan on cooking with it I'd pass on using a chemical.

This would probably work on a tree with a 3" caliper; however, on a larger tree this probably wouldn't kill it. The "Heart" of a tree is "dead" wood and serves no purpose for production or nutrient delivery.

Remedy, Reclaim mixture with water. 50/50 some hand soap as a surfactant. Best results large or small trees. Just cover the leaves with a sprayer in the summertime. Have had excellent results.

i am not sure what they sprayed from the air on our place, but it killed the mesquite and got a 95% kill in my estimation. . .i will try to find out what chemical they sprayed. But, i am a little skeptical eating food on a fire of mesquite that has been killed chemically.
